Seroprevalence of Rubella Virus antibodies among pregnant women in Hodeidah city, Western Yemen

Introduction: Rubella infection in early pregnancy can lead to miscarriages, fetal death, or birth of an infant with congenital rubella syndrome (CRS). Like other developing countries, Yemen surveillance is not well-established. So, the aim this study was conducted objectives estimating seroprevalence and potential risk factors acquiring by pregnant women Hodeidah city Yemen. Methods: A cross‐sectional for among attending antenatal clinics city, western Demographic data, obstetric characteristics, blood samples were collected tested specific antibodies (IgG IgM) using Electro-Chemiluminescence Immunoassay (ECLIA) technique. Results: The revealed that virus positive 91.25% which 89.2% only IgG class 2.0% both IgM antibodies. There no statistically significant association between seropositive all socio-demographic characteristics analyzed (P>0.05).
